The Kiirtan Festival is a unique opportunity to start the new year with joy and positivity. Sunday 31 December will start with a heart-connecting opening ceremony, followed by fun filled and inspiring classes on the art and science of kiirtan.

We'll enjoy the special company of Jyoshna LaTrobe, PhD, an ethnomusicologist, recording artist and performer. Jyoshna has researched aand helped revive the ancient roots of kiirtan in Rarh India. She is also a talented and inspiring musician who has lead kiirtan workshops across Europe in the last couple of years. She has also been a frequent guest at spiritual retreats in Australia over the last few decades.

From 8 pm on Sunday evening we will begin a twelve-hour kiirtan that will continue into the morning of the New Year. Particpants may join as much as they like through this special time as it brings an opportunity for powerful spiritual and positive energy and creates a beautiful space for profound meditation.

In the morning we will welcome in the New Year with quiet meditation, spiritual talks, dance and celebration.

​

Kiirtan Festival particpants can stay through the day on Monday for a collective outing and relaxing time in the beautiful surroundings.

​

Venue:

This year we are privileged to be able to use the beautiful Sine Cera Rainforest Retreat. This lovely location is purpose built for spiritual retreats and is located on 200 acres of pristine land adjoining the Border Ranges National Parks.

​

There are two levels of accommodation: Fahr House with private two-bed rooms and the Chalet, with ten beds per room.

Program:

The Kiirtan Festival is part of the Ananda Marga Summer Retreat warmly  welcomes people from all paths and with all levels of spirtiual background. Participants are welcome to join in the daily routine of collective yoga classes, twice daily kiirtan and meditation and delicious vegetarian meals.

Details:

Please arrive by 9:30 am 31 December.  You are welcome to  arrive the night before (with an extra cost depending on how many extra meals you'll be staying for.) The festival ends after lunch on 1 January.

 

The best airport to arrive is the Gold Coast airport. Please let us know if you need to be picked up.
